The Day of the Negro

Today in Rease's class we read, "The Negro Speaks of Rivers" and "I Too." Both poems talks about negros and how long they been on this earth. Negro are wise and they wanted equal rights like the Caucasian. In " I Too", they made the negro eat in the kitchen. Eating in the kitchen refers to discrimination. When the negro finally sat at the table the whites were ashamed. The Black's just wanted their freedom and equal rights. Negro are known as wise because of the journey our ancestors lived and learned from. Be wise and live a little. It's in every one.
